EMS Law in the Philippines ....Soon a reality

After 12 years of waiting, the Emergency Medical Service Law will be
soon a reality. As I look around yesterday on the net. I've stumble upon
some links from our Congress that they have published a third and final
reading of this new law, with it some news releases links I've found.
Finally! As a country more prone to natural disaster like recently the
"big flood" because of typhoon Ketsana last September last year, and a
new threat - terrorism. It's about time to uplift the standard of our
ragtag units. Who mostly volunteers, if paid only in allowances, they
ill-trained, or if they do its expensive and the bad thing is... no
career or a demand for this new field so most graduates go elsewhere

The practitioners will be given full recognition of their skills because of the new national registry. A crackdown for those
quacks I've encountered in the streets who claims he/she a paramedic
but turned out not even have one certifications or just a red cross card
for crying out loud. No more making the word paramedic an overrated or
mistook for a nurse. No more people wearing a star of life patch on
their uniforms or whatever unless they certified at least EMT-B.

Lord willing this will be my new career that I've waited for so long. Let's
hope after this May 10, 2010 national and local election will become a
Law soon. I would like to thank the brothers ans sisters of FFN,
especially CBz of Santa Barbara, CA, Paramedic Brian Maxey of Tennessee
and my fellow member Jason McDonald for keeping my EMS fire in my blood
still burning and hope. Now especially it will be handy in establishing
our first ambulance unit in our new fire brigade that I've just move in
my home township. For that you guys a great help.
