I can not begin to tell you how many times I hear somebody say..."I don't know how you do what you do." Usually told to me after sharing a story or answering a question they have about EMS.


I don't know 100% how I do what I do, I just know I can't imagine doing anything else. How about you?

For me, it was a calling. Initially, it was just by accident that I took the EMT class. It was because of peer pressure. After landiong an EMT job in a private ambulance and volunteered at a VAC; I knew I wanted to be a paramedic. That is what I did because not being do do more for patients made me want to be able to do more so I did just that; I became a paramedic. After 11 years on the truck; I took a 2 year sabbatical from it but wasn't far from it. I wanted to complete other things like get my Associates and Emergency Mgmt Certificate; which I did. No I'm pursing a Bachelors... Never too late... But I missed it a bit so I'm getting back on this March....
