Favorite Historical Disaster: Great Chicago Fire.

Favorite Cause Given: Meteor Shower
Humorous Tidbit: Cathrine O'Leary's cow was exonerated by The City of Chicago, which proclaimed it innocent and not at fault for the conflagration. Whil…

While I'm not going to actually blog, I've been up all night, I do have a link.
I bought this document several years ago, it's not too terribly interesting, unless you're deeply into EMS History, as I am..

We're with in days of our community's sesquicentennial. 150 Years of Slow Death. We have an old pumper, old tools and old men to show our past. Together, their number of years experience in firefighting and ambulance training surpass the age of the company, which was formed on July 11th, 1892. The whole station is a example of the hard work and elbow grease of generations of citizens and families. But just one table will exist to show the progress of the ambulance service. We have owned 18 ambul…

FedEx driver stopped at my home, I was on the front steps. He must have figured, local fireman, I'll know where people live. So, he reads the address off to me; 1234 Anyway Lane, etc.. I was stumped. First, because new roads and drives pop up every week as a part of readdressing; and second we have no maps until the changes are complete.
Anyhoo.. I had the guy follow me to the post office, and we tried to get the post master (herein referred to as PM) to help out. I knew the name, and the famil…

In an effort to self diagnose and rule out an Api, I decided to drink a lot more water for a week, to help speed up traffic.. per se. Anyhoo our water sucks. It's a hint of sulfur from nearby coal mines, and a lot of chlorine.. and I'm not paying for bottles, when I can get 1000gal. for the price of 1 bottle of water. I have one of those tap filters anyway. So, I was walking through the supermarket, and…

Word of the week: Twatted - UK - To hit on the head
EMS device of the week: Oral Screw (Jaw Spreader)

Randomness; The distance to the nearest hospital seems like a long way, if we're doing CPR. Sometimes, to break the stress or liven things up while we're working someone, I'll blurt out random things to wake myself up. I'll say to the other person that "spells me" (takes over for a bit), l…

I don't really blog.. Anyhoo. I always have random things to say. People like to hear the millions of completely useless facts that sometimes dribble out of me when I'm really tired.
