My company has an unpowered Stryker bariatric gurney which can be used manually or with a winch and ramps. We have recently been keeping the unit in service and posting it for 911 respones. The stretcher is wider and heavier and we are placing every patient on it regardless of their size or weight. Is anyone else out there doing this? Are there any risks or hazards associated with using a bariatric stretcher on regular patients? Have there been any studies? Please give me your feedback.

I just learned how much my auto insurance went up after a recent speeding ticket. I'll get a break after I complete a driver improvement course, so my search began for the cheapest, fastest, and easiest path to accomplish this. Some are online, and I'm exercising my finger to click through the slides as fast as possible. I've been driving for 15 years and don't expect my habits to change after completing the program. I was going through some of the blog posts on this site. I actually have been trying to set up a site up until recently on my own. I posted a couple of articles on it and was hoping to get some constructive input. While I have expressed some criticism about the certification process, the intent of these posts was to garner constructive improvement.
Regardless, please let me know what you think. I appreciate any… Continue

I've been in Medic school for 5 weeks and I find it very hard to concentrate on some material. Mostly its the Basic Biology and Pharmacolgy stuff, 2 of the most important foundations. I have a degree in Bology from West Chester University and took Pharmacology as an elective, hence why I find it hard. Other than that its pretty good. Patient Assessment is definently what I look forward too every week.
