No Heroes as NBC's 'Trauma' Fails to Deliver - a JEMS Review

A.J. Heightman
Editor-in-Chief, JEMS

The new series Trauma premiering Monday night is being billed by NBC as "the first high-octane medical drama series to live exclusively in the field." The show's Website says it's "like an adrenaline shot to the heart, an intense, action-packed look at one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world: first responder paramedics." Unfortu… Continue

My Emergency! Man Crush is Back On

DAVE J. IANNONE
JEMS Connect

One TV show changed my life.

When I was a wee bit lad of 11 or so, I started tuning in to what was exceptionally poor reception on Channel 24 in Baltimore. There was this awesome show called Emergency! It was all about firefighters and paramedics. Basically, it rocked (for an 11-year-old). I can… Continue

I just saw the promo for the new TV show Trauma to be on NBC so far it looks like an upscale Emergency with out the old gang and a different California City. I guess places like New York Chicago Baltimore Philly and other big cities are not exciting enough or they were just smart and said no. I can't really pass judgement on it until I actually see it but they are sure making EMS look really exciting.

Love the site! Intuitive, informal, and a great source of information. Thanks for providing such a rich forum for discussion. I like your page too. It's giving me some good ideas for my pages. Time is the only obstacle. :-)

Nice site! You guys have done a great job setting this up. I've learned quite a bit since joining. The biggest thing being the differences between departments, locations, and even how we interact with each other. That last one gets tested from time to time but we all are entitled to our opinion. Anyway, keep up the good work.

I have an issue that I hope you can help me with. I have two seperate IDs (it was a little confusing in the first days of the site and I did not realize I signed up twice for the same site) now I have quite a collection of friends across two IDs. Is there a way to bring the friends from the one ID onto the other ID short of inviting them from the ID I want them to be friends with???? The othe complication is that I had started a discussion group with the ID that I do not want anymore. I have authorized the other ID to the administrator level for the group so I think I am all set there if the originator ID goes away - am I?

Hi everyone, I have been working a Fly Car now for 2 years. I also like the concept. In fact, the hospital that I am working in (Bangkok, Thailand) is the only hospital base ambulance that operate this type of vehicle with multi-tasks.

If you work in a "fly car" or "first responder" this is the place for you. Say hello, get to know each other, share experiences good or bad. A good place to vent or just learn what we all do in our regions.

Very interestingly, how do you apply them (ice packs) on the patient ?
