About Me

I'm a Gainesville, Florida native who entered EMS in 1991. I always admired our medics in the Cavalry and sought the civilian side of EMS soon after my tour of duty ended. I've worked with Alachua County Fire Rescue since August 1993 primarily as a Rescue Lieutenant on an ambulance. In 2006 I transferred to administration in IT, managing all aspects of our RMS, and the computer systems within our department. After taking a hard look at my career I recently transferred back to my previous position as Rescue Lieutenant. EMS is where I'm most comfortable and I've been blessed with good mentors throughout my career. How often do you get a "do over" in life and I'm approaching my old position with the excitement I had nearly 20 years ago. Older, wiser, more patient.
