I always knew EMS was for the young in body - specifically during those short bursts of high stress placed on both our minds and body inbetween moments of bored induced paralysis. At 53 I'm still loving the profession, but am bound and determned n...

Steve is there any way I can have the specific protocol you have with your regional EMS board and medical director.....what did the hospice medical director want or need in writing?

Steve,

Hope all is well; I’m sure you meet hundreds of people during JEMS Conference, but Stacey Kopcho from Union Volunteer Ambulance Agency contacted you at JEMS conference. We both were absolutely enjoyed your presentation on Sentimental Journey. Mr. Nick Panko who was an original founder of Union passed away during the conference. Stacey requested info and talked briefly with you and received the Ambulance Model Project document. With much excitement we have had an initial meeting with our local hospice agency, and we are looking to meet with there upper management today. I will be taking the document that you gave us with to be able to explain the program. What I was curious is if we could communicate via phone or email so that we can move forward with implementing this and ask some fairly specific questions like; protocols you have with your medical director and the hospice medical director, ect.

I feel this can only benefit our patients/residence and help to broaden our providers experience with end of life issues and hospice needs. My email is cellis@unionems.com and office phone is (607) 754-3414 x 235. Hope to here from you soon.

respectfully,

Chris Ellis, RN, BS, NREMT-P

Hi Steve,
I just heard that you'll be a keynote speaker at the Ontario Paaramedic Association conference in November! I look forward to hearing you speak.

I would love to be part of the memorial ride, but I think that I would have to drive one of the trucks that follows and provides care to you bikers! :) If you can get me set up doing that, I will see what I can do! Great to hear from you as always! Take care!

Hey Steve! The old Medics like you and Me are the best, right? :) I always like listening to your stories. They are great. Are you going to be involved in the EMS Memorial this year? I would love to go to that. I think that is so important to recognize these fallen heroes.
Take care!

Steve,
I was absolutely floored by your presentation at EMS Today. You bring so many ideas to the forefront of our profession and have a helluva presentation style. As I said during our brief conversation after your keynote, I truly believe that was THE best "lecture" I have ever received. I only wish I could have archived it for all of my colleagues to watch or listen to!

Keep up the great work, and I will definitely be looking forward to listening to your presentations in the future!

Jon

doc, Your EMS myopia is showing. You're viewing this entire thing through the eyes of "only EMS counts" to you. Show me two paramedics in a car that can attack a structural fire, or any other fire larger than an incipient one that can be handled...

doc, When those private businesses run those big vehicles on emergency responses with the legal right to disregard traffic laws, then your example will apply. Until then, it doesn't.

Tom, It's been a while, but I have seen the 5th (brown) lead that actually was a bipolar lead designed to add MCL1 to the monitor selection. It is a poor substitute for an actual 12 lead ECG with unipolar chest leads, regardless.
