Lease or Purchase of Ambulances

Hello all,I am looking for your thoughts on leasing new ambulances versus purchasing them.  What experiences have people had with leasing.  Are there any benefits to one over the other?   We are a rehabilitation hospital based  ambulance service that maintains a fleet of 2 ALS units, 11 BLS units and 4 chair cars.  Some of the vehicles are scheduled to be replaced next FY and I am looking to see if leasing is a viable option.  Any feedback or information would be greatly appreciated!  ThanksSee More

Back Wellness Program

What does your service do for a back wellness program?  Do you look at a candidates ability to lift at hire?  What tools and procedures do you use to evaluate them?  What about after someone has been injured and is about to return to full duty?  Are they evaluated then as well?  Do you offer yearly education on proper mechanics of lifting and moving patients?  And finally for services with these program in place do you receive discounts from your insurance or workmanship comp carrier?

Hello again Sean,

Thanks so much for your reply. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am always looking for more patches, so if you have several that you are able to trade I can send you a selection in return. I currently have a number of different EMS and Fire patches from New Zealand available and a few "extras" from overseas. If you are OK with this, please let me know what you have available & I will check my stocks also.
Regards,
Lyndon.

Hello Sean,

Welcome to the JEMS family!

I am an EMT-I down in New Zealand and work for our countrys' smallest ambulance provider (16 paid staff for a 24/7 service). I am currently collecting EMS patches from around the world to display on the walls of our ambulance station. Please let me know if you would like to trade patches with me. I would love to add your patch to our display.
Regards,
Lyndon.
