About Me
I retired from FDNY EMS after 25 years as the Deputy Chief of Training in October 2008. I started this great job with St. John's University teaching EMT and Paramedic classes in November 2008. This is a big change for me from civil service to academia but I am enjoying it.
I have been an instructor since 1989 in fire and EMS. I taught at the FDNY EMS Academy for many years before being promoted. I taught new employees, EMT, paramedics and was the lead instructor for lieutenant and captain training.
I teach firefighting and am a Second Deputy Chief Instructor at the Nassau County Fire Servcie Academy.
I have also done private consulting work in emergency management and exercise design and execution for municipalities and the United States military.
Day Job
Associate Director St. John's University EMS Institute
I Love Being in EMS Because
Something I have always done since Johnny and Roy and if you don't know who they are then you are still a rookie!
