Hey Jim,
I am an EMT down in New Zealand (between Australia and the South Pole). I'm collecting EMS patches for our station. Just wondered if you would like to trade with me.
Regards,
Lyndon.

Hi I live in NYC area and am new to this list serve. Will be doing some pre-hospital care in lower hudson valley in the spring. My prior work history is as stated. Don't have alot of contacts here or even see an interest in wilderness EMS ( for obvious reasons I suppose) but a doc at columbia presb hospital is a local contact and teaches his residents in this discipline. There is some kind of residency in philly area for same.

I may end up moving in the next couple years to Adirondack region for job and to improve my skill sets in these areas. I do paddle kayak but even getting folks there interested in swift water rescue is a challenge.
The National Park Service spoiled me ! :>)
I am also a woman so locally fire depts aren't always friendly to these types of interests and I personally have no interest in structural fire fighting although I have done some grassland .
New Paltz is the closet volunteer SAR team for me at this point 1 1/2 hr away.

Thanks for responding. Look forward to hearing from others.
There is a BIG wilderness med conf is fall 2009 you may have heard about at Cornell Univer Ithaca NY coming up. I may go to.
