About Me
Mr. Magyar is a founding partner of Emerge Public Safety with more than 20 years of public safety experience. He previously owned/operated Magyar Consulting and Training.

Mr. Magyar is an accomplished member of the public safety community. He holds leadership positions in both the career and volunteer setting. He is a frequent speaker, lecturer, and instructor throughout Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelors degree in EMS (cum laude) and a Masters degree in occupational safety and health. He holds numerous credentials including nationally registered paramedic (NREMTP), certified anti-terrorism specialist (CAS), certified in homeland security IV (CHS), certified emergency manager (CEM), chief fire officer designation (CFO), Member Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFirE) and is a candidate for chief medical officer designation (CMO).

Mr. Magyar currently serves as a career paramedic platoon chief and volunteer fire chief. He also serves as a special operations technical rescue captain and USAR regional element officer for Pennsylvania.

Mr. Magyar has a passion for education. He is an adjunct faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology. He is an instructor at Penn State University, Bucks County Community College, and Harrisburg Area Community College. He is a certified instructor for the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, Pennsylvania Department of Health, American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Swede Survival Systems, and the American Heart Association.

Homeland security is one of Mr. Magyar's special interest. He is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, American Board for Certification in Homeland Security, and the Anti-Terrorism Accreditation Board. He is on the Preparation and Response team for first responders and COBRA division. As a leader of the regional task force he has been instrumental in all hazards preparedness for a seven county region in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Magyar is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding service including the 2006 "Pennsylvania Paramedic of the Year". Mr. Magyar recieved the honor of inclusion in "The Heritage Registry of Who's Who 2007-2008 EDITION".

Mr. Magyar is professionally affiliated with the National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Fire Chief's, International Association of Emergency Managers, International Association of Fire Engineers, Center for Public Safety Excellence, American College of Forensic Examiners, American Board for Certication in Homeland Security, Anti-Terrorism Accredidation Board, National Association of EMS Instructors, and several other professional organizations.

Mr. Magyar frequently reviews EMS and Homeland security textbooks for Jones & Bartlett and Brady/Prentice Hall publisher's.
