Well, since I work at a school.......life is good in the summer! I am currently in Missouri where my husband and mysself are lucky to have a cottage. As always, it needs much repair but we enjoy doing the work since it is different from the sameo, sameo. Working on tiling a bathroom floor today. It is our first attempt at tiling so hopefully it will go well. I do envy you in a way, you get to see alot of stuff in the hospital. At the school, the potential for accidents is high but for the most part they are far and few between. But, since I do have the little darlings under my care when mom and dad are not immediately available, I better be on my game if something does go wrong. Had a few broken bones, a snake bite and plenty of asthma events. One of my cardiac kids was having some problems near the end of school so I don't know it they resolved or if he will end up in surgery again. I think I had five pregnant students but no miscarriages or deliveries thank goodness! Mostly EMS is close by but if they are out on a call, then there could be a delay getting to me. Did you decide to go for the paramedic school? I wasn't sure how I felt about the comment made by someone who thought that you should shawdow someone before leaving your "higher" paying job? Good advice but got the feeling like they were insinuating that they were a bit higher on the food chain. I am lucky to have some support from the fire department in my area and my last recert class was filled with people from all walks of life as Basics. It reaffirmed me as to my role is just as important as the ones riding the ambulances. Not better, not less, still learning the same stuff they are just using it differently. Where are you from again? We have to recert every two years. I have just completed in April, hallelujia! Done for another two. I am still interested in becoming a ER Tech. I just have not figured out how to stay up all night! The school job is kinda boring but you can't beat the hours. The entertainment factor, "the teenagers" are a perk as well. They are crazy people at that age. I don't remember being anything like that.... :) how about you? We had alot of hubabalu about the Swine Flu being in a school and everything. Did your area have much going in that? It was good to hear from you. Get some great R&R this summer. I'll be boating at the Lake!!!
