My Training:
I am a Firefighter/Paramedic with Carroll County Fire & Rescue, and a volunteer Paramedic with Pipers Gap Rescue Squad. I also have several of the "merit badge" courses as well, such as: ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and AMLS. Prior to obtaining my current EMS certification, I obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
About Me
I initially started in EMS after 9/11 for the collegiate rescue squad as an EMT-B. I started my first "real" job as a laboratory technician producing medical diagnostics. I then realized that lab work was not my "calling," and resumed working as an EMT for a local EMS agency as paid staff. I have since progressed to working EMS in the county (rural setting) as a NR-Paramedic with the intent of progressing my career as soon as possible. I intend on achieving air medical specialist status.

I Love Being in EMS Because
I love the variety and spontaneity. One moment you could be doing a routine transport from a nursing home, and the next extricating someone from a car accident on the interstate.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!  I've been hanging out with the Altavista crew this weekend and they've all been super nice.  I'm hoping they will keep me around a while.  Hope all is well with you and no biggie but, it's Andrea, not Angela :)

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the info. I thought it should be opening soon. I'm going to be traveling from Martinsburg back to Huntington for the holidays. I might take the long way through Blacksburg. I noticed you work for REMSI. I took a couple class at the training center.

Hi Dave,
How's Blacksburg these days? I lived in Roanoke and worked at Carilion for three years. I came to Blacksburg alot to escape Roanoke.
