Dove Flight (PHI Air Medical, Indiana); Pendleton Emergency Ambulance; Chesterfield-Union Twp FD; Alexandria Fire Dept; Rural/Metro; AID Ambulance; Young-Nichols Ambulance
hi there! thanks for the add. i just saw PHI flying over my apartment complex on the west side of indy earlier today. at first i thought it was a big giant bumble bee ;-)
My email address is als_emt@yahoo.com......for future reference.....
My mother's symptoms began in her distal extremities, I remember she "tripped" alot, had "foot drop", it took forever for them to diagnose her. Her bulbar symptoms didn't begin until about 7 years into it. Take your time and don't rush when you eat, I'm sure you know that.....we saw Dr Pazcuzzi at IU Med Center....who is in charge of your care? If you want to continue this via email that would be fine. BTW, you deserve the best my dear, a lifetime of caring for others, family and those you didn't even know.....you should know that.....I'm praying for you.....don't loose your faith!......
You know I have an up close and personal relationship with ALS myself.....are you having trouble swallowing? If I'm getting to personal just tell me and I'll shut up....
The engagement....ahh yes....I took Brian to Story Inn, it just outside Nashville IN, you ought to google their website....pretty cool place....we stayed in the Old Mill Loft, it was my Christmas present to him....just awesome....no phones, no cell service, no television....dinner was by candlelight, they had a string duet playing Christmas carols....the food was great and the wine to DIE FOR.....the rumor at PHI was that we were going to "get hitched in Vegas" because Brian had never asked for a day off since he had been there....we just laughed and I thought "How funny" little did I know Brian had a plan up his sleeve. So after supper, I'm 3 big glasses of wine downstream, in a hot tub, and he pops the question.....I was floored. I sayed "yes", how could I not, down on one knee and the whole nine yards....we haven't set a date...I'm still waiting to be 100% comfortable with my own judgement. (Been burnt pretty bad) But there isn't any rush, which is good.
Let me know if I can help you with anything....think of you often!
hey Claudia, I saw Aaron today, he was doing a ride along with Dove One. We were both asking each other how you were doing....so.....how are you doing? lol
Thanks for the add ! At first I thought the "school bus yellow" bird looked strange but actually after a second look it's appeal is it's uniqueness. Take Care, Enjoy, and God Bless!
It was a chip light but I guess it really started alarming like crazy. Wow, I can't believe that has happened to Pam twice! That was the first time I met her, nice gal. Brian rode with me today for awhile until Dr. Brandenburg came in so he could shadow him. My first two patient's had to be intubated, the second we had to RSI and decompress her right side....I told him he was a s___t magnet, we ran our butts off all day long after that....and EVERYBODY was siiiick....I told him he's banned....lol. It sure was nice to have the help though. PHI really has some phenominal people on staff, I hope their management realizes that!
I was standing on the pad at St E....camera ready to take a nice shot, sun to my back....etc. (I'm standing out there freezing my butt off thinking, where in the hell are they?)The call came accross my radio, Randolph Fire and Medic 4 be enroute to a helicopter down....and my ears went "Waaaa waaa waaa" she then said everyone is okay, they just need the patient transported to St E. I picked my colon off the helipad and headed inside, calling Brian as I went. It was Dove 4, John and Pam. Mechanical failure of some sort, the pilot did a great job and we got the pt to the cath lab. I've known John forever, we went to EMT class together....scared the hell outa me though....nightmare scenerio!!! It sounded awful over the radio.....I'm working tomorrow otherwise I'd be havin' a big Margarita lemme tell ya.....whew!
