About Me
I am an independent consultant to EMS and Fire, and the organizations that serve them. With more than 15 years experience in public information, PR, communications and marketing--including six years in resuscitation--I have a passion for emergency medical services and strive to support EMS agencies' and non-profits' success, and counsel manufacturers in how best to understand and meet the needs of EMS and Fire.

When I'm not consulting, I direct new media ventures at the ProMed Network, where we reach more than 300,000 medical professionals and advocates each month. The Network’s lineup features some of the leading programs in the health podcasting space, produced by independent medical professionals in a variety of fields. These internet radio and TV shows, commonly known as podcasts, are downloaded and consumed all around the world and are rapidly growing in popularity. The ProMed Network includes nearly 40 programs in emergency medical services, medical education, disaster preparedness, nursing, psychology, virology, and neurology.

I also proudly serve as the Director of Communications for the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation (http://www.sca-aware.org), working to raise awareness for SCA and ultimately increase survival rates.

Last, but certainly not least, I consult on Marketing and Social Media for the Chronicles of EMS, the first-of-its-kind Web reality series by paramedics for paramedics. Through entertainment and education, we're bringing the real-life experience of EMS to the world and helping to usher in the next generation of our field.

Hey Carissa,
Well, no, actually, I'm missing the conference this year. We've having to cut travel a bit this year at the request of our program, so I'll be here in Dallas taking care of the EMS system. Hope y'all have a great session.
Regards,
Ray Fowler, MD

Hello Carissa,
Sorry at this time we are only offering a EMT-P program. Are you a "First Responder" currently?

Hi Carissa,
You WERE on my list, but I also know that there's some eager beavers who like to cut the list back in our constant effort to save trees... For sure you should have received some issues.
Call me and let me know what you've found! I'd love to hear, and hope it's a great move for you.
Indeed it's the BUSY pre-show time of the year. Amazing times, these are! Let's talk soon. My office number is 619 795 9040...
