Carrying LifePak 12

Been trying for awhile to figure out a way to carry a LifePak 12 on a stretcher. I understand that there are commercial devices available to accomplish just this. But I ride in a system who will no...

There's FAA approved mounts that enwrap the monitor that aircraft use, but I dont know of any actual crash-tested mounts for the ground ambulance.

Ferno has a line of ambulance defib mounts. http://www.ferno.com/product_listing.aspx?cat=59&subcat=280

I agree with you completely and might have misunderstood the question. I though the idea was to secure the monitor to the stretcher while transferring the patient to and from the ambulance. When the ambulance is in motion the monitor needs to be ...

Um, if your service is refusing to provide crash-worthy mounts or a method to secure it (Carabiners and the hooks on the handle are great ways to turn your 10 pound monitor into a 150 pound head-crusing projectile in an accident), you need to be r...

Just drop and break one sometime. Your agency will figure out (quickly) that an investment in a secure way to move it is worth the $$$. It will probably lower your agency's insurance costs, too. --Tom

I thought that looked like one of the Welch Allyn monitors I used at one place! God, those things had some really stupid features.

I'm 99% sure that it was self fabricated, but that was before I worked there. The only commercially available designs that I've ever seen were the classic table top ones where you have to remove the monitor and table before moving the patient.

Since this is kinda of expanding a bit into a "how to secure a monitor" thread, I'll share what my first company did for CCT transports. For this set up, it'll help if someone in your company or someone you know knows how to work with metal. Essen...

The streatchers have the "catch all" behind the head, if so this works well. the other option is to cut down a single longboard strap to about two two and a half feet, then you can run it through the side rail habdle and clik it, this will hold it...

There's not enough clearance above the top pouch for us to use the hooks on the side or back rail. It will also become a heavy projectile if the vehicles rolls if just hooked on. Unfortunately I haven't found a better solution than strapping it ne...

I found that The Lp-12 can fall easy when useing the hooks I use card bored splints on the back of the stretcher with a lot of tape this also can hold a vent.

Does your LP12 not have the 2 small moulded hooks on the rear of the casing below the handle? Most should unless you have purposefully removed them as I believe that they are a factory standard item. If you use these the monitor should hang on the...

My paramedic preceptor had two very large carabiners attached to the handle. He used them to attach the LP 12 to the side rail of the stretcher. Worked great and very low cost.

See, simple arithmetic tells me that if there aren't enough people to go on fire and EMS calls because they're on police matters, it tells me that they didn't hire enough people, or aren't running them efficiently. The savings of such a system sho...

Toledo. Not Lima--wrong thread, and I have yet to comment on Lima because it's obvious their system is pretty broken. (Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to alternate between 2 different ambulance providers? It would be one thing if it w...

Something I'd forgotten. Obviously there are some things that you don't want running off into creeks in large amounts, but large amounts are something for the big hazmat truck anyhow....
