Mike, Thank you for catching the error in the article and pointing it out. You are correct that hyperventilation is still recommended when patients show signs of cerebral herniation. I should have been more cautious when writing the article and the error is all mine.The intention of the training provided by the TBI was to reverse the general practice of hyperventilating patients with traumatic brain injuries.
