About Me

A dedicated mother of 2 pretty awesome sons (17 and 18), step-mom of 2 amazing daughters (8 and 12), loving girlfriend to my handsome Bruce of almost 2 years. I'm a volunteer EMT-B and future FF (currently in FF school) at Greenport FD on Long Island. I'm a Registered Nurse and U.S. Navy Veteran (1992-96). My family means everything to me, and I'm very blessed to have a happy and healthy one.

I love volunteering. It makes me feel good deep down inside, and I'm always glad to lend a helping hand. I'm very fortunate to live in such a small tight knit community. This community has been wonderful to me, and I'm more than happy to give back by the way of the FD.

So far, I'm learning a lot about the FD. It reminds me of my old Navy days, which I miss dearly. So being part of a brother/sisterhood again makes me feel great! I'm an RN, so being an EMT-B is a challenge, because in the hospital I Can do so much more for patients, like start an IV, administer prn treatments and meds, etc. I find it challenging because there's only so much I can do in the field as an EMT-B. I plan on furthering my education after I finish FF school.

I'm the Secretary to our Rescue Squad, and plan on running for 2nd Lt. This April. I'm looking forward to meeting colleagues on this site. I would love to gain as much insight and advice from you all!
