Comment by Andrea Smith on May 22, 2012 at 10:16am Thank you so much Scott, that was very kind. I know absolutely nothing about transferring my credentials to Virginia since my only experience in EMS thus far has been through school and my internship in Indiana. I'm hoping to get affiliated with a local service rather quickly and perhaps they can point me in the right direction. Otherwise, I just may be contacting OEMS! Thanks again and take care!
Comment by Scott Winston on May 22, 2012 at 9:38am Andrea, welcome to Virginia. I hope you enjoy your new home in Virginia and I am confident you will quickly find your niche in our EMS system. Please let OEMS know if you have any questions about transferring your credentials to Virginia (www.vdh.virginia.gov/oems)
Sounds like you have also discovered the regional EMS council in your area. For a listing of all regional council offices go to www.vaems.org
Best of luck to you and your family.
Comment by Andrea Smith on May 22, 2012 at 7:43am Hello, I'm Andrea. New to Virginia and new to EMS! I graduated and got my NREMT-P in January and moved to a small town south of Lynchburg in February. Hoping to get on with a local crew ASAP and start my career in EMS.
