Back from summer vacation soon, so I put together an update of the segments we're working on for the fall/winter EMS Leadership Topics.

We're researching stories on bias in evidence based medicine, the progress of education of our personnel, the death of the public utility model of EMS delivery, and a variety of tactical leadership tips.

You can find the FREE video podcast on iTunes or at the website, as well as clips on YouTube.

It's hard to believe that I just finished my third week here and it has flown by. . .
Toured about half of the Northern Neck the first week and then spent the day on the Peninsula the third week - so far so good. Ant thanks to those taking the time welcome me. It is a shift in geography, and HUMIDITY (the one thing no one warned me about)
Looking forward to meeting folks at Symposium. . .

Glad you're getting settled in, Jerry. What a shift in geography, from Oregon to Virginia! Hope your week is a great one.

Jerry, Welcome to the great Commonwealth. The EMS System in VA has evolved over the last 30+ years into one of the premiere EMS programs in the country. We are delighted to welcome you to Virginia and we look foward to working with you in your position of Asst. Director of PEMS. I hold a position of the same title at the state level. We will get together once you get settled into your new position. In the interim, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you. Thanks, Scott

Thanks. Expect to become involved with the future of EMS in Va. (After I learn where the land mines are of course!)

G'Day. I am moving to VA within the next couple of weeks to work for one of the EMS Councils (no, I won't reveal which one yet). Currently an OR and NR EMT-P with about 35 years in the field; 20 as a field medic and the last 15 in Administrative or regulatory positions.

Hope to get to know some of you in the near future.

Thanks for starting this group, Michael!

My name's Dana. I'm a paramedic. I live in Chesterfield, just south of Richmond.

I am still sort of new to volunteering; I worked in Massachusetts as a paid firefighter/medic. Or medic/firefighter. Or medic with a big red truck, then a small red van, then...it was a weird time.

I host a video podcast for EMS leaders, inventively called "EMS Leadership Topics." Available on iTunes or at www.emsleadershiptopics.com, it deals with national and international issues about EMS leadership. Since I'm in Virginia, though, there's a lot of specific information about our great Commonwealth.
