The Texas Department of State Health Services Region 2/3 is sponsoring a series of two- day workshops to assist communities in preparing to manage response to Mass Fatality Incidents. The Workshop is directed at community emergency responders of all types.

Hello, if you are an NAEMT member or not I represent you on the NAEMT Board from Region IV. I have worked for the past two years on the board to improve EMS. I serve on the Rural Development Preparedness Consortium to provide training to advance Homeland security in the rural setting. Take a look at what we have developed at www.ruraltraning.org . I joined your group to enhance our communications between you and the association that represents you. Some of you I met last year at the Texas State Conference.
I would appreciate your support in the current election. Visit www.naemt.org and click on the election information to view the candidates. Stay in touch, stay informed, and most of all stay safe. I want what is best for the “boots on the ground” because EMS Matters!

I am chaplain at Katy (Texas Fire & EMS. I also operate Christ 4 Responders (http://www.christ4responders.org) I have been on quite a few runs with the engine crews assisting EMS. I also will be taking EMT class early next year through our department. I look forward to being here and learning more about EMS in Texas.

I work for a good sized service in the Houston area. There are some hospitals that are very good at transferring patient care, and some that think we in EMS are basically taxi-driving neanderthals. If the nurses were told that we are indeed assuming patient care from point A to point B, maybe they might take us serious.

I had a nurse, RN, who had his first ever ambulance ride the other day. He was COMPLETELY unaware as to what we could do in our scope of practice. It opened his eyes to some things, and hopefully changed his attitude a little toward us.

When I took my intermediate, there was a lot of patho pys on it, plus shock questions about the different types of shock and the signs and symptoms. Good luck!

Since it's obvious to all of us that patient-centered, data driven, evidence based, and clinically excellent EMS is worth striving for, regardless of who provides it, maybe we could work together and come up with a thread entitled "characteristics...

If you could demonstrate a cause-effect relationship, I might buy it, but you can't. There mere fact that a body politic votes one way or the other is not proof of anything (except perhaps a successful lobbying effort). It's long been a scientific...
