You make a good point Ken. EMT-B's need to focus of BLS skills like accurate vital signs, BLS airway management, pateint assessment etc.) and not worry about the more invasive skills.

When is that coming to the western side of the state? I have yet to hear of this from anyone here, and I'm an instructor. Are the EMTs trained in the indications/contraindications? I agree with Ken, this is NOT good.

Just wondering what everyone thinks of the fact that EMT-B's are now able to utilize and carry the King airway. I know from an employee at Danville ambulance that they indeed have them on their BLS rigs and had gone through a 3 hour training class on them from our state medical director. I for one am against this as you can now become an EMT-B in as little as two weeks.

The Senate version will be SB 240; however, the language of the senate bill has not been released yet.

To all interested in the results of the 2-4-09 mtg. @ Country Cupboard.
Nobody else was able to make it except 2 of us so we just had a great buffet dinner and shot the breeze. If anyone is still interested in setting another date for a mtg. please email me: Ambguy@aol.com
Thanks, John

Great to hear about Tim doing better. Also I would like to say I can make the meeting tonight but I am geting my taxes done close to that time. If I can make it I will stop by but would most likely be late.

I was told that Tim is making some progress. He was awake and talking and wished his wife a happy birthday.
