Douglas,

I am a little confused by your post as to what your actually asking. If you would like to see our protocols you can go to www.pehsc.org. I can tell you that as far as I know there are no such things as national registry protocols and You won't be able to become an EMT-B in just any state as many states still do not recognize the registry for reciprocity. PA does allow this reciprocity process. Protocols change from state to state but for the most part treating a pt from one state to the next doesn't deviate much. Protocols do however because what they are telling you is how much you may do prior to calling and consulting with a physician which is ultimately dictated by a board of your peers and your state medical director in a best case scenerio. I hope this helps to answer your questions and yes you do need a 16 hour EVOC course to operate an emergency vehicle in PA as well as a valid CPR card.

Just curious Pennesylvania EMT'S, I live in Washington State and I am taking the EMT-B/National Registery Course and when I am certified I can be an EMT in any state and my question, will your protocols be any different? Here we have to complete the three month course , then take the 16 hour course of Emergency Vehicle Driving" .

Any Thoughts?

Great commentary on Recruitment, Retention and Reimbursement. If you can transfer the discussion to this group, that would be great. Thanks for starting this group!

Great Job JJ. This site is a very good idea. Maybe it can help us all with our Recruitment, Retention and Reimbursement issues.
Keep up the good work and thanks for inviting me to join. JWM

Welcome! I am hoping this may be a good start for PA EMS providers to communicate about issues in EMS.

Please start a discussion and invite PA EMS providers. Feel free to invite providers from other states. We can learn alot from collegues in other states.
