Hello. Let me be the first to welcome you to Philly.
If you are a paramedic, once you get reciprosity, I would suggest 911 services in the counties surrounding the City of Philadelphia (Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, and Chester). The services inside the city limits are strictly transport services only. The Philadelphia Fire Dept is the sole provider of 911 EMS in the City of Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Fire Dept is always accepting applications for the position of Fire Service Paramedic. the hiring process takes approximately 6-8 months to be ranked, physical, drug screen, background investigation, etc.

Paramedic classes are held at the Philadelphia Fire Academy and take approximately 8 weeks to complete. Classes are scheduled according the needs of the Department and budgetary constraints.

Good luck to you.
