Comment by Jimmy on November 17, 2011 at 5:45am outside of the text books, does anyone have suggested reading material related to EMS? Really any type of media (paper or websites) that you find interesting.
Comment by Jeffery Wolven on November 16, 2011 at 2:56pm Matthew your welcome and stay true to yourself in this field.
Comment by Matthew J. Travous on November 16, 2011 at 12:49pm Jeffery- Thanks for the advice! While I do enjoy what I do and working in EMS, I do understand the need for a life outside of work. Ive only been in EMS less than a year and already have seen many co-workers and colleagues in the EMS community "burnout". Given, many of these fellows have been doing this far too long, but I definitely do not want to become a "victim" of those circumstances. I'm very eager to learn and be successful in this field, hopefully, I can have a very fruitful career.
Comment by Jeffery Wolven on November 16, 2011 at 12:52am Matthew while eating, sleep and breathing EMS don't forget to have fun so you don't burn out. All the best for your studies and life.
Comment by Matthew J. Travous on November 10, 2011 at 8:15pm Hey everybody! I'm fairly new to EMS. I'll have been an EMT-Basic one year this January. I'm currently attending classes to become a Paramedic and will be finished in May. I eat, sleep, and breath EMS, however, sleep is a rare commodity. HA HA
