I have been in EMS for approximately 11 years and in the fire service for 10 years.  I am a POC Firefighter and part-time EMT-Basic for my department which runs its own ambulance service (ALS and BLS).

I have been in the Fire service for over thirty years and a emt for the last five years. I started in the fire service shortly after loseing my 3 and 5 year old daughters in a house fire in west texas. I never wanted to see anyone have to go through what I did and wanted to help everyone out. It has been a very exciteing ride and I will keep on doing it as long as possible. Just today I responded to a wildland fire which was arson caused. I am also a volunteer on our ambulance service and am kept rather busy there. These are the most exciteing and interesting professions there are and I love doing it.

I'm neither a FF or an EMT, however I still LOVE Fire and EMS. My circumstances growing up didn't afford me the opportunity to get involved as a volunteer in our town, but I have ALWAYS held all emergency services near and dear to my heart. After 9/11 I became involved in our local Fire Auxiliary, eventually becoming President and then VP of our county Citizen Fire Academy Alumni Association. I volunteer with FD to do Pub Ed whenever possible. I also teach 1st Aid and CPR part-time and love it! (My full-time gig is as a coporate trainer.) My dream is to some day become a Fire and Life Safety Educator so I can educate the public and help to hopefully keep them from needing your services! Thanks for all you do!

I've been FF 17 years now, with 15 of that as an Investigator
Wouldn't trade it for anything. Enjoy what I do to much

I got into this field because " I am support person to our local fire department and a student EMT-B because I want to help people and this is a great profession to be in and where else can you get to help people and feel good. "

hey everyone! feeling good today. Had a full arrest and brought the patient back without having to defib. First on scene, downtime was only minutes and got a heartbeat en route to the hospital. Ahhh, the good life :)~

Hello from Argentina got 11 years in the Fire and convert it to the station in my second home and where he created strong bonds of comradeship with my colleagues. I think some habits are different and do not change despite the distances or nationalities. Chau a big hug!

To my last remarks It is not that I am to old for fire service just that no one that I know of will hire in the fire service over the age of 35.I would love to get back into the fire service(paid) dept .I love volunteering but that doesn't pay the bills.I belong to a vol fire dept in nj and soon in Ny due to I just placed the paperwork in for the local fire dept here in my new town.
