We would love to welcome everyone who is going to the EMS Expo in Vegas to stop by our booth #4207 and come see the new StyLite TM self illuminating intubation styets and see how easy they make intubation.  We will give you a free sample at the booth.  OmniMedTech.com

Hi all! There is a new association in California representing EMS professionals. Even if you are not an EMD, EMR, EMT, AEMT or Paramedic in California, please "Like" this page to support us!  CAAEMT Facebook Page

The mission of the California Association of Emergency Medical Technicians is to serve the prehospital EMS care providers of California by presenting networking opportunities, offer continuing education, work with CAAEMT partners to give discounts on services and products, and represent its membership during discussions that will readily affect their practice and protocols.

Spread the word by re-posting on JEMS and Facebook!

Being prepared is 90% of the management of the newborn. This is an exciting, video driven wild ride through neo-natal resuscitation. We will slow down the clock and take it second by second, what to do after the delivery of an infant. Mostly BLS with some ALS, come get some great ideas on putting together a REAL OB Kit, and some fun ways to do some squad training to be prepared when the call comes in! I can't wait to do this fun, fast moving class!!

Session highlight: Gone in 60 Seconds: The First Minute of Life. The call is for a newborn - in cardiac arrest…are you ready to handle the situation? All newborns arrive in the world in cardiac arrest; it’s what happens in the first minute of life that makes a huge difference. Register for this Saturday class with Bob Page and learn how to manage this nerve-racking situation. Does delivering a baby intimidate you?

Conference Spotlight: Networking
Lunch
- Take this opportunity to build your personal network and discuss hot topics with your peers, all while enjoying a delicious deli buffet. It's the perfect opportunity to make friends or expand your social network, especially if you're new to the conference or attending by yourself.

We're looking forward to the Fired for Facebook session! It's such a hot topic right now. Many EMS agencies are unsure of their legal footing when it comes to dealing with employees (or volunteers!) who post negative things about their companies, or even post patient information or pictures on their Facebook pages. We're going to set the record sraight in this session on what the law does - and doesn't - allow employers to do in these circumstances. Gonna be a great session.

Session highlight: Fired for Facebook, 15 Steps to Using Social Media Legally and Safely. Have you been in trouble because of your tweets, status updates, photo or video postings? If so you should register for this Friday class with Doug Wolfberg and Steve Wirth. They’ll present both employee and employer rights and tell you what you need to do to avoid a lawsuit. Do you have any questions you’d like them to address?

Hey Gang - tell me what "tools" or equipment items you have found can be used for multiple things. Have a favorite scissors that you use as an oxygen wrench? Ever carry a FENCING PLIERS in your tool box? (Do your rigs even have a tool box?) What's your favorite flashlight? My personal favorite is attached here - a new CRAFSMAN 80-LED folding light that can illuminate a cardiac arrest scene, MCI, or to check your unit. Check it out (and buy one for yourself at SEARS for Christmas - You deserve a great present like this - so buy it for yourself! Ha Ha. - LATER!

Session highlight: Gear & Gadgets Galore. Have you ever been on a call and had to repurpose a tool to accommodate your patient’s needs? If so, you should register for this Saturday session with AJ Heightman. He’ll present a host of tools and products that your agency can use for multiple purposes. And if you know AJ like we do, you know he’ll make MacGyver proud! What are some of your favorite multi-purpose tools? You may have one he doesn’t know about!

We’re holding a cooking contest at EMS Today in which participants MUST use 5 ingredients we give them. Do you like to cook and have an idea of what ingredients pair well … or don’t? Let us know which 5 you think we should make them use. We want to make the contest challenging but also get some great recipes out of it!
