Comment by Erich M. Weldon on August 23, 2011 at 12:21am Hi all! There is a new association in California representing EMS professionals. Even if you are not an EMD, EMR, EMT, AEMT or Paramedic in California, please "Like" this page to support us! CAAEMT Facebook Page
The mission of the California Association of Emergency Medical Technicians is to serve the prehospital EMS care providers of California by presenting networking opportunities, offer continuing education, work with CAAEMT partners to give discounts on services and products, and represent its membership during discussions that will readily affect their practice and protocols.

Comment by Doug Wolfberg on December 14, 2010 at 2:54pm We're looking forward to the Fired for Facebook session! It's such a hot topic right now. Many EMS agencies are unsure of their legal footing when it comes to dealing with employees (or volunteers!) who post negative things about their companies, or even post patient information or pictures on their Facebook pages. We're going to set the record sraight in this session on what the law does - and doesn't - allow employers to do in these circumstances. Gonna be a great session.
Comment by JEMS Web Team on December 13, 2010 at 4:41pm Session highlight: Fired for Facebook, 15 Steps to Using Social Media Legally and Safely. Have you been in trouble because of your tweets, status updates, photo or video postings? If so you should register for this Friday class with Doug Wolfberg and Steve Wirth. They’ll present both employee and employer rights and tell you what you need to do to avoid a lawsuit. Do you have any questions you’d like them to address?
