Which foundation textbook do you find the best for Paramedic students, and why?

With a quick scan I found these:

  • Mosby's Paramedic Textbook
  • Paramedic Practice Today: Above and Beyond
  • Nancy Caroline's Emergency Care in the Streets, Sixth Edition
  • Nancy Caroline's Emergency Care in the Streets - UK Version
  • Sanders Paramedic Textbook - New UK 4th Edition

Do you know of any others?

Best regards, Carl

the last one I looked through and found really good is called The Paramedic Mc Graw Hill

Chapleau,Burba,Pons, Page

One of the best books I have seen so far

Carl,  I've always been an advocate of Nancy Caroline.  You have to love her style.  Down to earth & refreshing.  Very good medically of course.

I love Will Chapleau in person, but his books are just not what you see when you see him.

Thanks for the input Nelly. Must say I haven't even heard of that book. I know Mosby's Paramedic Textbook fairly well, do you know it? If so, how would you compare the two.

Dave,

I've heard a lot of good about Nancy Caroline's book. Heard she died (?) and that the sixth edition is written by somebody else. Have you read the original (1995?), or the updated one (2007)? Or the british version?

Which would you consider the best buy?

Was afraid the original was outdated and that the newer edition wasn't as good as the original.

Lots'a questions, and greatfull for feedback form everyone.

I like and have used Brady's books. They have a single text and also a 5 volume text. They are published by Pearson/Prentice Hall.

Hello,

I use Mcgraw Hill Paramedic Pratice Today. I only teach intro and only require volume 1, I have added to that Thibeou and Pattons The Human Body in Health and Disease for anatomy and physiology.  The both have great online learning components for students.
