Do you have an EMS competition?

Every year at EMS Today, the JEMS conference, we hold the JEMS Games Clinical Competition. It includes a preliminary competition in which 20-25 teams from across the country compete in an 8-station course. Based on final times and clinical accuracy, the top three teams make it to the finals. This year, the finals involved a bar fight with five critical stabbing and gsw patients. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took home the gold medal. To watch a video of the 2008 JEMS Games, go here...

Hello folks,I was at the Jems Games this year and I wanted to say it was a great time... and was wondering if I may be of assistance in anyone out there in the northeastern USA that are looking to train for or host future competitions. MY wife and I own a ambulance simulator company known as Green Ambulance Simulator, Inc. and would love to help with future competitions. We own a SimMan, Simbaby, several trauma manikins, moulage, and an assortment of airway and iv trainers. Please check out my website at www.greenambulancesimulator.com for more info.thanks, be safe, ralph

For all of you competing in the JEMS Games this year, I wanted to let you know that the grand prize will once again be the GlideScope video laryngoscope! Also, every single participant will receive a certificate for a free spine board from EP+R. www.epandr.com/products/immobilization/spineBoards/overview.htm

These are just some of the great prizes we have lined up for this year.

Good luck!

Please let me share - What a fantastic way to test your skills, and along the way to expand you network, to challenge your boundaries and make lifelong buddies during the journey. The experience is simply awesome watching last year, whow! that alone was a rush Joe. You guys (NYFD EMS) were inspirational. 'Team Aussie' will always hold the JEMS experience, memories and those friends made close to our hearts; it is an allround inspiring event. Don't forget the many volunteers and content experts who give so much so we get this opportunity to grow. Congratulations.

My fellow co-workers and myself competed in an EMS competition one year at a conference. It was our first time trying a competition. I really enjoyed it, but to get the crew to try again is like asking them to work overtime.

So the entire stance that you've taken that fire/EMS saves money on support costs are really a lie then?
