I just found an all Blues all the time music channel on our HD TV lineup! Ya gotta love (some) modern technology!

Just an update on my indoctrination. I still have yet to listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jonny Lang, Robert Johnson, but I found a "best of" set of 60 songs that seems like it gave me a good start at a cross section.

The set includes: Memphis Slim, Cannonball Aderley, Charles Brown, Pee Wee Crayton, Bo Diddley, Dr John, Canned Heat, Rare Earth (hey wait I think I remember listening to some of these guys through bluish smoke (for the record you can't prove I inhaled), Billie Holiday, Lightnin' Hopkins, BB King, Big Maybelle, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, Dinah Washington, Roy Brown, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Leadbelly, Big Joe Williams, Ike & Tina.

A friend also passed me a 6 disc set from Aligator Records which includes the 20th, 25th, and 30th Aniversary Editions, but no liner notes so I can't tell yet who I am listening to. He also gave me a copy of Aligator Records Christmas Blues - very funny listening! ! !

As far as Robert Johnson and the few at the top that I haven't gotten to yet any specific songs or releases I should look for?

The journey contines! Dave C.

I'll add my few suggestions. Buddy Guy, Albert King for the inovators and Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jonny Lang for the more modern.

I would suggest that after you have listened to about a dozen different blues artist of different styles that only then do you go back and listen to Robert Johnson. The raw emotion will grab your gut and eventually your soul.
Ah, the blues......nobody loves but my mother, and she could be jiving me too.

See, simple arithmetic tells me that if there aren't enough people to go on fire and EMS calls because they're on police matters, it tells me that they didn't hire enough people, or aren't running them efficiently. The savings of such a system sho...

Toledo. Not Lima--wrong thread, and I have yet to comment on Lima because it's obvious their system is pretty broken. (Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to alternate between 2 different ambulance providers? It would be one thing if it w...

Something I'd forgotten. Obviously there are some things that you don't want running off into creeks in large amounts, but large amounts are something for the big hazmat truck anyhow....
