Hello Everyone, My name is Sheila. I have been in EMS for about 12 years. worked as a 911 dispatcher for about 5 years untill the Service I worked for Closed it's doors and The Co. that took over our area had it's own dispatch center and dispatchers, so I am now back on the street. Still love being in dispatch and have to watch to keep my thoughts on our dispatch to myself.

Hi everybody. My name is John. I am disoatching for the Wodhaven Volunteer Ambulance after riding as an EMT for 25 years. i guess I am a little old for bouncing around with th lights and sirens (72). There are many who think that being a dispatcher is some sort of comedown or demotion. I find it great. I am concerned with every phase of every call, often in contact with police or fire people, and in between watch TV and scarf Devil Dogs and cups of tea. I am glad to join this group.

Hello everyone!! I am an EMT-B, firefighter, and a dispatcher.. The firefighting is volunteer, the EMT-B is full time and the dispatching is part time.. I love all of my jobs and when changes are being made in our dispatching, I get asked the tough question of do we change it or leave it alone?? Cause I am on both sides of the street... Stay warm and safe all of you!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Season's GREETINGS to all!

I worked in medical dispatch for over 16 years for Erie County, NY (Buffalo). I am also an instructor for Priority Dispatch and the past Chair of the College of Fellows of the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch. I have been involved in EMS and Fire for over 30 years. I work full-time at a community college, teaching emergency medical technology.

Nice to see a dispatch group!

Thanks for the invite. I'm the commander of Boston EMS dispatch operations. We process 911 EMS calls, dispatch city ambulances and handle regional CMED (ambulance to hospital radio system)

I am a NAACS certified Comm Spec for Life Flight in Des Moines Iowa. We currently have an Astar and we are getting our new one next year, which will be an EC 145. We are a hospital based service. I also take incoming ambulance reports and give those reports to the ED. I also have my EMT-Basic.

As a newly-licenced paramedic, I also agree that the current system is flawed. My clinicals alternated between extremely good and a few situations where I was the most-senior person on the truck...as a student. The problem isn't limited to the civ...
