Hi, I new on here at JEMS. I have been an EMT for 6 years now, 2 of those years I have been a CPR/First Aid Instructor.  I am working on becoming a level one EMT instructor.  I have worked a full time as a dispatcher, however love the truck better so I went back to EMS.  I had a health issue and taken off the truck I can only do part time and I mean part time, so due to health reasons I have gone back to a desk, now I work for Halifax County E911 Center being a Quality Assurance Training Officer for Dispatchers.  Yea, a mouth full huh...so glad to be here...

Hi all! There is a new association in California representing EMS professionals. Even if you are not an EMD, EMR, EMT, AEMT or Paramedic in California, please "Like" this page to support us!  CAAEMT Facebook Page

EMD's will be recognized as an integral component to EMS and offered active and full membership with the CAAEMT!

The mission of the California Association of Emergency Medical Technicians is to serve the prehospital EMS care providers of California by presenting networking opportunities, offer continuing education, work with CAAEMT partners to give discounts on services and products, and represent its membership during discussions that will readily affect their practice and protocols.

Spread the word by re-posting on JEMS and Facebook!

Hello. I'm Andre. I have been involved with EMS since 1997. After getting hurt in 2006 from an injury while saving a patient, I have decided to become a Dispatcher and test my radio communication skills. I was a call taker and an assistant to a dispatcher, but never took the course. I am looking for courses in the Northern NJ area or South, if I have to. I also would like to hear pointers, suggestions and advice. I am looking to relocate to Atlanta GA and would like to know if my training will be useful there and in other states.

Thank you!

I have been in EMS for about 12 years. worked as a 911 dispatcher for about 5 years untill the Service I worked for Closed it's doors and The Co. that took over our area had it's own dispatch center and dispatchers, so I am now back on the street. Still love being in dispatch and have to watch to keep my thoughts on our dispatch to myself.

Hi everybody. My name is John. I am disoatching for the Wodhaven Volunteer Ambulance after riding as an EMT for 25 years. i guess I am a little old for bouncing around with th lights and sirens (72). There are many who think that being a dispatcher is some sort of comedown or demotion. I find it great. I am concerned with every phase of every call, often in contact with police or fire people, and in between watch TV and scarf Devil Dogs and cups of tea. I am glad to join this group.

Hello everyone!! I am an EMT-B, firefighter, and a dispatcher.. The firefighting is volunteer, the EMT-B is full time and the dispatching is part time.. I love all of my jobs and when changes are being made in our dispatching, I get asked the tough question of do we change it or leave it alone?? Cause I am on both sides of the street... Stay warm and safe all of you!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
