I'd have to say that subconsciously Johnny & Roy played a part in my descision to become involved in EMS. I didn't watch it and say to myself "I wanna do that", but when I did get going, I thought "This is like being on 'ol 51". Of course, the first time I opened up a sodium bicarb syringe, I just had to pop the caps off "just like John".
I have seasons 1-5 & can't wait for#6.

Watching Emergency back in the 70's is what drove me to become a Paramedic. I have now been a Paramedic here in Tennessee for 30 years and an EMT for 32 years. I now work as a Physician Assistant and still utilize my Paramedic lic. with a Federal DMAT-1 Team and a State USAR-3 Team

yep, I watched that show every Friday night. Now I have season one my oldest boy bought me for my birthday a couple years ago. It made me interrested in EMS, which is why I certified in 1981. Spent several years in the back of an ambulance, lapsed out for several years and am re certified, and again in the back of an ambulance. You can watch seasons 1-4 on either hulu or aol video. The episode with the former vietnam medic is in there. By the way, Walmart has the 6 season set available for order for 100.00, just go to their website and look up videos.

Hi everyone, I have been working a Fly Car now for 2 years. I also like the concept. In fact, the hospital that I am working in (Bangkok, Thailand) is the only hospital base ambulance that operate this type of vehicle with multi-tasks.

If you work in a "fly car" or "first responder" this is the place for you. Say hello, get to know each other, share experiences good or bad. A good place to vent or just learn what we all do in our regions.

Very interestingly, how do you apply them (ice packs) on the patient ?
