Actually if anyone responds, as the state has likely requested federal assistance, it will be the teams on the ESF-8 rotational schedule and likely not MO-1, as their home state is affected. With a relatively small number of deceased, those can likely be handled within the state by state resources, yet the federal team is ready IF requested by the locals and the state.
Agree with Sam on this one. Bad deal 89 so far this morning.

Dino, with that much damage to hospitals I expect that there will be DMATs responding, but not necessarily MO-1. Some of their members will be affected by this and the weather is still unstable. As we speak the state team is arriving in St. Louis and setting up operations. More to follow.

Sam, looking at the pictures and listening to the live online feed via radioreference.com I am suspecting that the federal team in Missouri will soon follow the state team, and if not them, then the closest federal dmort team since the feed is saying a lot covering those areas.

Correction, it's the Missouri State team not federal team that deployed to the tornado

This is not a Drill:
St. John's Regional Hospital in Joplin, Missouri involved in tornado strike. Severe damage across the area and multiple agencies activated for response. weatherchannel.com is streaming live coverage for more information. more information to follow if additional aid requests come up. Several statewide response systems on alert and DMAT MO-1 activated. Follow this on the ISDMC Facebook site. More info as received from responders.

James is certainly welcome to use this forum for discussions on this survey. We talked quite a bit yesterday and I agree with what he's trying to accomplish. -Sam

Hey James,
Is it best to contact you offline, or are you looking to use this forum to discuss the survey?
I can certainly participate once I get back home, if there's not a close deadline. I'm an ER doc and paramedic and have been out with DMATs for most major events over the past few years.

Sam,

I've love to have you contact me off-list if you'd prefer.  One of the things I am looking for is the avoidance of the "disaster - after the disaster" or the unsolicited and unprepared volunteer help.

You can contact me via email at ems_chief@live.com or via cell phone at (406)-391-3671.
