A friend of mine, Scott Kier, was an on-duty paramedic supervisor when an F3 tornado struck the area of Springfield, Mass the first of last year. Reports say that wind speeds were up to around 160 MPH when it was coming through the center of the city putting it just shy of EF-4 status. Scott spent the next 36 hours on the ground with many great EMS providers and I was witness to many great things over the day of the tornado and the days that followed. EMS as it's finest.
He has contributed to a book about the tornado for the purpose of raising money for the continued rebuilding and relief that is going on in the area. Read Scott's story and others and contribute to the rebuilding!
