The recently released AHA 2010 CPR Guidelines include many changes that will have a profound effect on how EMS personnel deliver cardiac care. This group will be a place for discussion on how agencies are implementing the new Guidelines.

Comment by Ron Webb on February 25, 2011 at 4:18pm: I've been a BLS instructor since 2000 (provider only for the previous 10 years; ACLS instructor since 2001 and PALS instructor since 2002) and have seen radical changes in 2001, 2006 and now. Each time, it seems to confuse people and many people tend to reject changes. While the concept of changing the alphabet seems un-natural, if you look at the science behind it, it makes total sense. I welcome the change to checking and dealing with circulation first.

I'm a volunteer with St John Ambulance in Ottawa Canada and we have been told of the new 2010 Guideline in CPR.

My level of training is Advanced Medical First Responder Level 1 with HCP CPR C training.

Until the new guideline comes in effect for us we still have to use the previous CPR protocol.
