Congratulations to our paramedic colleagues in New South Wales (Sydney etc.) Australia, on being named (again) the most trusted profession in Australia.
OK, my American paramedic friends - what would it take US to achieve this same thing?
Big service - over 4,000 employees, 1.15 million responses last year. Education requirements for paramedics - Bachelor of Paramedic Science.
Read about them HERE: http://www.ambulance.nsw.gov.au/about-us.html
Given the running list of professions, it would be interesting to see the survey and questions asked, to give an understanding of how the results were arrived at...
Judging by the comments all over the site, one comes to the conclusion that there is little science to this survey
Probably not scientific, because it's an opinion poll. That's not the point.
The point is that in Australia, paramedics are recognized by the public and highly regarded by the public. Ditto for Canada That is not generally true in the US, and I don't know about the UK.
Since one of my career goals is for paramedics in the USA to be held in the same high regard, I'm trying to get colleagues to discuss what we have to do to achieve such status.
