JEMS Connect - EMS Emergency Medical Services

Social and Professional Network

"Tonights episode of NYC 22 , "Playing God" is probably the greatest affront to every member of New York City's THREE emergency services that I have ever seen on TV.

An incompetent Sgt who leaves his rookies in a contaminated drug lab environment where they are exposed, Firefighters who just walk aimlessly around for 30 minutes at a pin job ,while the car leaks gas, then catches fire from a gas line rupture, while the greatest incompetents on the show- the 2 ESU cops who cant figure out how to extricate their dicks from their zipper to take a piss, keep EMS away from the 2 pinned patients while the rookie cop pulls the patients tongue from his mouth because "he's swallowing it" instead of getting one of the medics , still wandering aimlessly in the background. The patient ultimately dies, still pinned in the vehicle.

Quote from the "Emergency Service Cop" in taking pride at telling EMS to get away from the car and "go treat the injuries on the perimeter" :"Getting killed in the line of duty isn't in their (EMS) job description. Thats for soldiers, fireman and cops". Go tell that to all the Paramedics and EMT's that gave their lives or were injured on 9/11 and all over the country for the past 50 years keeping Americans alive.

Mr. New York himself- Robert DeNiro has the gall to put his name on this product as producer? Who were his researchers for the series- a homeless guy with a lobotomy and one of the rejects from the trunk monkey commercials?
The only good part of this post I can report is justice is served. This series was cancelled in May.

Love it!  Your comment that is.

However now I'm gonna have to go check out this disaster that is "NYC 22"  Never heard of it before, but it sounds stupid enough to watch for 5 minutes.  How come we can make some pretty good Cop shows/movies, some pretty good firefighting shows/movies, but EMS just can't seem to get it right???
