I am getting ready to start a EMT program and am having a hard time getting a insurance agent to undertand what we are doing. they cant seem to wrap their mind around the fact EMT students wont be driving ambulances.

so my question to you guys is , can you reccomend a insurance company or agent ?

Don't quite follow the question. Are you a student joining a programme or an instructor setting up a new course.

Are you looking for liability insurance? or vehicle insurance?

I would recommend HPSO, /www.hpso.com  This is what my students use, and what I carry personally in the field. Here's a sample quote for an EMT student:

State: New Hampshire
Profession/Area of study: EMS-Basic/Intermediate
Employment Status: Student
Recent Graduate: No
Limits of Liability: $1,000,000 / $3,000,000
Annual Premium: $35.00
Healthcare Providers Service Organization Purchasing Group Membership Fee : $1.75
Total Due: $36.75

Healthcare Providers Service Organization is proud to have been selected as the preferred provider of professional liability insurance to the following professional association(s):

Endorsed By:
National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT)
