Reciprocity is easy, you just apply on-line with your registry to the EMERB website. Jobs can be a different matter, Hennepin was hiring a while ago but otherwise there's 3 big services in the metro twin cities area, Allina, Health East and North Memorial, all hospital based. Also 3 paramedic program churning out new medics every year. The only fire department with significant medic units is St. Paul, otherwise 2-3 ambulance operations

I work for Hennepin EMS, a hospital based service (Level One Trauma Center) located in Minneapolis. Our service did 64,000 911 calls in 2012. We have added over 30 positions in the past year and will be doing some hiring this spring.

Pay starts out at around $20/hr and tops out presently at $32.50/hr. We are public employees with a good benefit package and a defined benefit retirement program that is part of the state-wide Police and Fire retirement association.

Our equipment is very good and we have a very close working relationship with our physicians. It is a very good place to work.
