Permalink Reply by Alan Sherman on August 16, 2009 at 7:18am We have a rural ambulance association where 5 volunteer companies have gone together to put a paid ambulance crew on from Monday to Friday, 0600 to 1600. We currently have only 1 full time employee, and she is the supervisor who does the scheduling, etc. She works Monday through Thursday, with various part-timers on different days. Part-timers do come and go, but we have several who do it as a second job that fits around their first one, and one who is only available during school vacations, which helps a lot. Some of the part-timers work partial days and meet each other, which is all right with us as long as everything is covered. It seems to be working better than the previous system, which was 2 full-timers and a few part-timers. We also have less overtime this way.
