i have the

Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured, Ninth Edition
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)
ISBN: 9780763771416
or the mosby emt-b book
I liked "EMT Prehospital Care" by Henry & Stapleton (Mosby).
AAOS
The Mosby or Brady EMT-B books are closer to what NREMT uses for the tests, as opposed to AAOS, however I think AAOS covers some topics more indepth than the other two. Like David said, use two. Whichever one the course requires you to use, and either the AAOS or Mosby.
Agree.

I am about to start my EMT-B training class and we were told that since it was a volunteer organization that there would be no out of pocket expense. and now they are saying that we have to pay out $59.00 for the 9th edition AAOS book. I am trying to get it for cheaper than what they want for it and I cant find anything other than one listing on ebay and that is all. Does anyone know of a website to get it from or a person who would lend it to me for the class. Please I am in need of help

$59 new? Sounds like a bargain.
Hi Amanda

I Think The Brady Emt -Book 11Th Edition Is An Very Good Book To Use & It Really Help Me When I Took My Emt-Class & You Will Do Okay In Your Class
I used the AAOS for basic and now for intermediate as well..  as a teacher, i can't stand the book. they need to get some editors that are education specialists and understand how people learn. I'm not saying the info is bad, just that the presentation and organization could be far better.
