JEMS Connect - EMS Emergency Medical Services

Social and Professional Network

I read the statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics about EMT assaulted more on the job then police officer. 2 out of 1000 Police Officers VS 8 out every 1000 EMT.

After the situational debriefing and investigations it seems as if the EMT / Paramedic's response to the hostile patient and his or her crisis behavior escalated the situation.
" Crisis is never about the behavior, Quit  taking it personal. QTIP.."

Until state department of health and EMS boards realize this growing problem among EMS providers and a situation that is going to intensify with psych hospitals , and EMT mandated to be educated I wrote a guide to help you understand the crisis behavior a person maybe experiencing and your response.to it.

I'm just an ordinary guy with 12 years EMS experience, Corrections and Military experience that has had more then enough exposure to hostile persons.

I hate to spam on the board but I have the guide published on barnes and noble, Amazon, LULU and I can email . DOC and PDF . It's 3250 page guide and it's a proven system that may help you de escalate the crisis behavior or maintain it until you can safely ride in an ambulance.

3250 pages?  Really?

Why do we have to wait for state health departments and EMS boards to deal with this?  WE THE EMS PEOPLE could deal with this if we really wanted to!!!
