EMS Toy & Collectables Display at The Pennsylvania National Fire Museum

Greetings from Pennsylvania! I wanted to share some news about a new EMS exhibit at the Pennsylvania National Fire Museum here in Harrisburg, PA. I thought you might share this information with all Pennsylvania EMS personnel so they too could come and see the exhibit.

I was contacted by the The Pennsylvania National Fire Museum and was asked if they could display my EMS toy collection at their museum for the next year. I have been collecting since my teen years and now have a chance to share my collection with the public. The exhibit kick-off will be in connection with Fire Expo at the Pennsylvania Farm Show this month on Friday May 15, 2009.

I started my collecting when I was a teen member of the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad in Butler, N.J. (1972) and continued to collect EMS toys and items from around the world while serving on active military duty as a Hospital Corpsman with U.S. Naval and U.S. Marine Corps forces. I retired from the military in 1999 and my collection has continued to grow with donations of toys and items from family members and my co-workers. There is a number of EMS toy vehicles from horse drawn to future concept EMS vehicles. Included in the exhibit will be some other EMS memorabilia collected over the years.

I have include the museum information below:

doc, You are also forgetting the relative call volumes and the effect they have. Law enforcement is the busiest function (crime fighting) so the cops have the least time to devote to other, non-crime-fighting functions. That makes it intutively o...
