"Don't smoke crack, smoke Fentanyl. But don't smoke Fentanyl that's been in your crack"
Has anybody else seen a huge increase in the abuse of the Fentanyl patches?? We are dealing with this escalation of subjects that split the patch open and then smoke the (liquid paste) contents. Or else they are placing the patches in or near their anus, where the uptake is quicker. They present as the "typical" narcotic OD, decreased mentation and respiratory effort, and typically respond to the "narcan" wake-up call. I was just wondering if we have some sort of strange climate in this area, or if other folks are seeing similar things.....
