Good morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving week,

My university has just started a campus emergency response team and we are in need of equipment. We are in our infancy, and while we have responded successfully to some campus incidents, we need more equipment to be better able to handle any (BLS) emergencies on campus.

I should note that there are a few of us who acually work for an EMS company in town, though I'm the only one with a full-time EMS job. We are looking to expand our numbers and, hopefully be able to provide 24/7 911 coverage for the campus and surrounding neighborhoods in the near future, pending our ability to get enough and proper equipment and, of course, an ambulance. There are many of us who are very serious about EMS, a few who want to go career, and others who, at the very least, took the time and effort to attend EMT-B classes and complete certification while holding down full college schedules, which bodes well for our success. From what I've seen of our volunteers so far, they're pretty dedicated to top-notch patient care and aren't just a bunch of college kids looking for an adrenaline rush.

So, if any of you have any suggestions as to who we can contact or where we should go about looking for equipment, or if your agencies have surplus equipment, we would really appreciate the help. Coming from a small, private university, we have very limited funding and, of course, rely on donations for all of our gear. I've already fixed an old suction unit myself and bought a new battery and charger for it, out of my pocket, but I can't afford to do that with much else.

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated. We can use most anything EMS-related.

Thank you!

John
