Hi all
The fiance just got accepted into a Phd in public health program at UNC Chapel Hill so it looks like I'm going to be relocating. I was wondering if anyone had good information about paramedic positions in the Chapel Hill area namely
1.) Who is primary 911 for the Chapel Hill area?
2.) Is national registry recognized and what steps need to be taken to be licensed/certified in NC?
3.) What are some good agencies/companies to work for in Chapel Hill?
A little about myself. I currently work full time at a publicly funded ALS third service in suburban St. Louis. I have close to 5 years experience, 2 as a medic, 3 as an EMT-B and a very limited volunteer fire experience. I really like being on a third service so if there are any in the area that would be great. Any information will be helpful. Thanks everyone

All of these are county ("third service" EMS but we don't like that term much) EMS departments except in Chatham County (which is hospital operated). There are also a couple of air services, hospital critical care transport services (Duke, UNC, and WakeMed all run them) and multiple convalescent services.
Fire EMS is mostly limited to first response at the EMT or MR levels.
