I have been having very long squezzing and pain in my chest and thorax. It lasts up to 25 minutes and its difficult to breath. What could this be and is it dangerous?

That is my first thought, but I am only 22 years old and I do not have pain in my arms. After 20 or 30 minutes it goes away. Could there be any other explaination? It happens about once a week now and getting stronger. It's like someone is squezzing me and won't stop.

Yes I will get checked out soon here in France. It doesn't feel like an emergency, I have been having this thing for many many years, but now it has changed to more squezzing then sharp quick pains. I know it will go away, but recently it has been crazy long and painful. What are the other things could it be?

Permalink Reply by Neil White on September 11, 2012 at 12:01pm It is very difficult for anyone to diagnose conditions via a web forum. It is as has been suggested best for you to seek face to face medical assessment either at a hospital or your own primary care doctor
Playing 20 questions will only add to any anxiety you are feeling

Not Doctors on call.
Go to your doctor. If you have them for years and haven't had them looked at you're neglecting your own health if you don't get seen.
There is no need for over the top advice (like calling Ambulances or going to an emergency department) or speculating to a civilian what it might be. It is completely inappropriate.
Permalink Reply by anya peaux on September 12, 2012 at 2:09am It is innapproperiate to discuss chest pain on this website? I am not asking a diagnoses, just different causes of chest pain. Yes I will go to a doctor, but I also like discussing things like this, one day I want to be in the EMS too and wanted some opinions. Sorry if I disturbed you.
Permalink Reply by The Cannulator on September 12, 2012 at 2:37am If you are discussing your own condition then ethically, yes it is.
Planting seeds in your mind about possible causes is also not the right thing to do.
You need fair assessment from a doctor, if afterwards you aren't sure about your diagnosis come back and ask, but its not the right thing for us to assess remotely, especially, heaven forbid someone was to give you wrong advice.
I hope you are free from these pains whatever the cause soon!
Permalink Reply by anya peaux on September 12, 2012 at 3:24am Ok I will do that. Yes I am free from the pain for the moment. Thanks for your help.
